AUA Academic Conference and Workshop: SAFE Reproductive Health 2025

Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with the Asian Universities Alliance (AUA), proudly announces the SAFE Reproductive Health 2025 conference, which will be held in Bangkok on February 25-26, 2025. This pioneering event will be hosted by the School of Global Health at the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, focusing on advancing sustainable and equitable reproductive healthcare practices across the globe.

The acronym SAFE stands for Sustainability, Accessibility, Freedom, and Equality—core principles that will guide the discussions and objectives of this international gathering. The conference will bring together leading experts, practitioners, and academics to explore the latest developments in reproductive health, underlining the importance of comprehensive, accessible, and inclusive healthcare systems. Participants will engage in thought-provoking discussions, innovative research presentations, and collaborative sessions to promote health equity and address pressing global challenges in reproductive health.

The workshops will be composed of lectures, case presentations, group discussion, and interactive sessions via quiz-based learning platform.

Call for Abstracts

The conference delves into following themes:

Reproductive Life Planning: This theme seeks abstracts addressing the importance of reproductive life planning, outline its key components, and explore strategies for integrating these services into sexual and reproductive health care.

Safe Pregnancy and Childbirth: This theme seeks abstracts addressing the insights and strategies to ensure safe pregnancy outcomes and childbirth experiences, focusing on both maternal and neonatal health.

Reproductive Cancers: This theme seeks abstracts addressing the prevention, early detection, and treatment of cancers affecting the reproductive system.

AI and Women Health: This theme seeks abstracts addressing the intersection of technology and healthcare, showcasing how artificial intelligence and digital tools are transforming reproductive health services, from patient care to data management.

Violence Against Women: This theme seeks abstracts addressing the prevalence, impact, and prevention of violence against women globally. We welcome research that highlights innovative strategies, challenges, and opportunities for advancing women’s safety, health, and empowerment in diverse cultural and socioeconomic contexts.

Sexual and Reproductive Health challenges in Asia: This theme seeks abstracts addressing the diverse challenges faced in sexual and reproductive health across Asia. Topics may include barriers to access, cultural and socioeconomic factors, adolescent reproductive health, contraception, maternal health, and policy implications.

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and HIV/AIDS: This theme seeks abstracts on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS, highlighting the latest advancements and challenges in managing these health issues.

Others: We also welcome any other related areas in global women’s health issues.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria:

Submissions from both AUA and non-AUA member institutions are welcome, on any aspect of Global Women Health and related fields. The organizers would particularly welcome papers reporting research or case studies under the theme “SAFE Reproductive Health.” Manuscripts from selected presentations will be invited for submission to peer-reviewed academic journals affiliated with the conference. The Scientific Committee will be responsible for selecting the submissions.

Abstract submission:

  • The abstract can be submitted via email by December  31, 2024. <jiayu.l@chula.ac.th>
  • Each submission should include the information below:
    • Research title
    • Abstract (no more than 350 words, including Background, Method, Results, Conclusion) and keywords (no more than 5) must be submitted in English.
    • Authors’ information, presenter’s information
  • Each presentation will be conducted in poster format and will be followed by a seminar-style discussion to provide constructive feedback to the authors.

Important dates:

Deadline for Abstract submission: December 31, 2024

Notification of acceptance: January 15, 2025

Benefits

  • Registration fee will be waived for accepted abstracts’ presenters.
  • All accepted abstracts are eligible for scientific abstract competition. The winners will get certificates and the prize awards.
