The School of Global Health joins global recognition of World AIDS Day on 1st of December 2024 with the article: The urgency of now to end HIV vertical transmission for pregnant and breastfeeding women and their children in Asia and the Pacific published in The Lancet Regional Health – Western Pacific, which provides updates on the current HIV vertical transmission situation in the Asia Pacific Region, highlighting the ongoing challenges in Ending AIDS on this front, such as low burden, thus low prioritization, but a vertical transmission rate twice that of the overall global rate (19.2% vs 9.9%), and importantly, what next steps are urgently needed.
