Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) Train-the-Trainer Course: 25–29 August 2025

The School of Global Health, the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with Action for Diabetes (A4D), and the Thai Association of Diabetes Educators, successfully organized the T1D Train-the-Trainer Course during 25–29 August 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand.

The course brought together participants from Myanmar, Laos, the Philippines, and Vietnam, along with hundreds of healthcare professionals across Southeast Asia who attended selected sessions via online platforms. The program aimed to strengthen capacity building in Type 1 Diabetes care, promote knowledge transfer, and foster regional collaboration for improving the quality of care for people living with Type 1 Diabetes.

Throughout the five-day program, expert faculty from Chulalongkorn University, Ramathibodi Hospital, and the Thai Association of Diabetes Educators delivered comprehensive lectures, case-based discussions, and interactive workshops covering intensive insulin therapy, diabetes self-management education and support (DSMES), transition care, communication skills, and psychosocial aspects of T1D.

This initiative highlights the commitment of the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, to advancing diabetes education, strengthening professional networks, and reducing health inequities across the ASEAN region.
