Research Program/

Center of Excellence in Kidney Metabolic Disorders

A smart center of excellence in advanced dialysis and dialysis-related metabolic disorders aiming to study the impacts of different treatment practices and patterns of individual Thai dialysis centers and national policies on treatment outcomes. Besides, the vigilance and surveillance of the emerging drug-resistant pathogens, environment-borne, and biofilm-producing microorganisms by applying bio-molecular technology such as high-throughput PCR and gene sequencing are also our expertise. The center employs digital-cloud database and future technology to screen patients at risk for dialysis-related infections with the supports of multi-parties national organizations, international research institutes and international society.

Focus Areas

  • Intraperitoneal Cefepime Monotherapy Versus Combination Therapy of Cefazolin Plus Ceftazidime for Empirical Treatment of CAPD-Associated Peritonitis: A Multicenter, Open-Label, Noninferiority, Randomized, Controlled Trial.
  • Effectiveness of Potassium Supplement in Hypokalemic PD Patients: A Stratified Randomized Controlled Trial.
  • Empirical Voriconazole vs. Amphotericin B in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients with Fungal Peritonitis: A Randomized Controlled Trial (VAF Study)
