Center of Excellence on Neuro-gastroenterology and Motility
Center of Excellence in Neurogastroenterology and Motility, Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University was established in 2003. This center dedicated to the researches, patient services on functional gastrointestinal disorders and also a training center for advanced Neurogastroenterology and Motility fellowship program.
Our services include breath test, esophageal manometry, 24 hr pH-impedance monitoring, video fluoroscopy of swallowing study, antroduodenal manometry, anorectal manometry and other specialized tests to provide service and research for patients with symptoms and disorders related to the gastrointestinal motility such as GERD, bloating, constipation, and fecal incontinence.
Services
We offer the following advanced diagnostic procedures.
High Resolution Esophageal Impedance Manometry (HRIM)
Measures pressures and fluid movement in the esophagus from upper to lower esophageal sphincter
Hydrogen breath test
Diagnosis of small bowel bacterial overgrowth & carbohydrate malabsorption
Pharyngeal Manometry
Quantification of propulsive and resistive problems within the pharyngoesophageal segment and their respective possible relations.
24-hour pH/Impedance Reflux Monitoring
Ambulatory Combined Multichannel Intraluminal Impedance and pH (MII-pH) Monitoring
Videofluoroscopic Swallow Study (VFSS)
Dynamic radiological technique. Evaluates signs of impaired efficacy and safety of swallowing
Saliva Flow Rate Test
Xerostomia evaluation. Unstimulated salivary flow rate test.
